TL;DR
Moyats streamlines Ethiopia's recruitment process by developing a homegrown ATS that tackles complex applications, inflexible systems, and limited data insights.
The platform provides customizable job postings, simplified workflows, and enhanced communication tools. Although it succeeded in its beta phase, a subscription model flaw affected profitability, highlighting the need for stronger market research.
The Problem
Hundreds apply, few are seen. Only 12% of recruiters in Ethiopia use ATS. Moyats aimed to change that with a local system built for our job market.
Interviews
Initially, I had conversations with HR managers and business owners who take hiring into their own hands. Nothing too formal. Several issues came to light.
Most systems require registration to apply and track applications.
Different platforms necessitate separate apps for managing applications.
They lack flexibility, often failing to provide a workflow for specific job postings and connecting companies and employers without a tailored process.
Less detailed analytics and limited candidate archiving for employers
There is no form automation to address bulk recruitment needs.
Findings & Recommendations
I conducted several, semi-formal interviews to infer all the possible roadblocks recruiters may face in their resume-handling workflows. I extracted user personas from the interviews, detailing users’ frustrations with the current system.
Powerful and secure candidate archives that are reusable for more jobs in the future.
End-to-end automation from sourcing to contract signing to placement.
Automatic interview schedules and E-signatures for contracts.
Personalised and Automated review and scoring systems.
AI-based resume analysis and rankings.
